Coldharbour Marine Limited coldharbour

UK based Coldharbour Marine Limited has been supplying marine technology and equipment for more than 35 years. Our designs and products have been used extensively in both the marine and offshore sectors. We make it our business to understand your requirements and to provide genuinely practical solutions to your technical problems.

Our product range includes:

• Inert Gas Systems
• Ballast Water Treatment Systems
• Domestic Water Modules
• Marine Jet Pumps

In 2004, design of the new 3rd generation Coldharbour Marine Sea GuardianTM Inert Gas Generator was underway for LNG/LPG applications, coincidental with the introduction of the International Maritime Organisation’s Ballast Water Management convention.

As an Inert Gas System manufacturer, Coldharbour engineers began to investigate the possibility of utilising inert gas for ballast water treatment. Following extensive research with ship operators, Coldharbour engineers set out the key principles that would drive the design of a new ballast water treatment system for large tankers, LNG/LPG carriers and bulkers.

By identifying customers’ most important operational requirements and incorporating them into an inert gas based ballast water treatment, Coldharbour engineers designed an in-tank rather than an in-line solution and eliminated many of the operational and technical challenges associated with in-line ballast water treatment systems.

Ecochlor, Inc

EcochlorEcochlor, Inc. provides shipowners with cost effective, environmentally safe ballast water treatment solutions that comply with all enacted and proposed standards and regulations. The Ecochlor® BWTS uses a two-step process to treat ballast water – filtration followed by disinfection with the well-known biocide, chlorine dioxide.

The system’s effectiveness is not impaired by variations in salinity, temperature, turbidity, organics, and vibration, which can impact other treatment options. Furthermore, the small size, low power, and low maintenance characteristics of the Ecochlor system make it ideally suited for installation on the world’s largest ships.
